The Whitemarsh Township Quarry Redevelopment project was a proposal by Block Engineering Group (BEG) to transform a depleted limestone quarry into a state-of-the-art private racetrack and luxury residential community. The project aimed to repurpose the site into a sustainable and profitable development while minimizing environmental impact.

After extensive evaluation of three possible redevelopment alternatives—including a golf course with residential homes and a high-density residential neighborhood—the private racetrack and country club concept was selected as the optimal solution.

As the lead track designer, I was responsible for:

  • Conceptualizing a high-performance racetrack within the constraints of the former quarry.
  • Designing the track to meet Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) standards, mimicking the experience of a professional Formula One-style road course.
  • Integrating elevation changes from the existing quarry terrain into the track layout for a unique driving experience.
  • Ensuring minimal environmental disruption while incorporating renewable energy solutions such as solar panels and photovoltaic modules.
  • Contributing to the overall site planning, including garages, a clubhouse, and residential zones.
